Chris' Personas

Personas is a component of the Metropath(ologies) exhibit, currently on display at the MIT Museum by the Sociable Media Group from the MIT Media La. It uses sophisticated natural language processing and the Internet to create a data portrait of one's aggregated online identity. In short, Personas shows you how the Internet sees you.

Uncorking CDOs

I've seen many attempts at explaining CDOs to layman since the crisis began. This is by far my favorite. While he use the champagne glass analogy to point out problem with CDO2, other problematic scenarios could be explained similarly.

My Wordle

Wordle creates beautiful word clouds. Spaces in between and within characters are used as much as possible, so the information-to-ink ratio is high. It would be even better if related words are positioned close to each others. (They currently use just the frequencies)

The algorithm belongs to IBM, so there won't be any library or open API. It might pop up in Many Eyes, though. The current tag cloud widget there is pretty standard, and this on is amazing.

These are tag clouds from my two del.icio.us accounts.
